MS Project Custom Form - SMI Fields

What is this?

This custom MS Project form provides you with specific Task meta data values and includes the following:

SMI Work Definition: Identifies the high level Task data like duration (elapsed time), hours of work to complete the Task, the Cost Code, for integration into JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Job Cost module and other data related to execution.

SMI Meta Data: This section contains just the most commonly used meta data elements for reporting. In all are over 30 Task specific meta data elements defined and populated for almost every Task. For some Tasks, like summary Tasks, it is not relevant to have every meta data element populated.

Constraints: Allows you to modify the constraints on the Task. When the schedule is next calculated these constraints will be taken into consideration allowing you to push work forward to move it back.

What does it look like?

Why would I want this?

Benefit One: This is a very quick reference to some of the important data elements that will be used in the project reporting package provided weekly by your SMI Project Manager.

Benefit Two: You can quickly flag a Task as "Monitored" so that you can keep a close eye on it. In the SMI project plan there are special filters you can use to report on Monitored Tasks.
