This custom MS Project form provides you with specific Task dates and includes the following:
Original Schedule: The original scheduled dates for this Task. These dates never change unless you decide to create a new project baseline.
Current Schedule: Each week the SMI Project Manager will upload all the prior week Task completions and recalculate the project schedule. These Current dates are the new schedule and my be earlier or later than the Original schedule depending on work done by Team Participants.
Actual Dates: These dates are updated on WHAM by Team Participants once a week. Based on their entries you can manage the project schedule on a daily basis to determine who is behind on their work.
Task Details: Lets you know who is the Task Owner and who is working on the Task (i.e.; Task resources)..
Task Constraints: Allows you to modify the constraints on the Task. When the schedule is next calculated these constraints will be taken into consideration allowing you to push work forward to move it back.

Benefit One: Knowing accurately where a Task is according to the schedule is the only way to determine if the project is slipping. This level of detail allows you to easily and quickly pin point bottle-necks and fix them.
Benefit Two: If a project starts to slip you will know immediately. Often in project spanning several months, Team Participants do not develop a sense of urgency until a month before the scheduled go-live date. If you are behind schedule at that point it is highly likely there is little you can do to fix it. Knowing on a daily basis you exact position in the project relative to the plan is invaluable.
