SMI is a consulting organization with long standing client relationships primarily focused west of the Rocky Mountains. Your responsibilities as a SMI Team member will vary, depending on your interest and talents.

The Application Consulting group focuses on helping our clients achieve the greatest operational benefit from the deployment of world leading business technologies. They work to analyze, design, configure, validate, train, deploy and support the business solutions our clients utilize.

The Technology Consultants provide invaluable expertise in foundational technologies critical for the success of our clients. They work with our Team to install, configure and implement operating systems, databases, web servers, application platforms and many other facets of the technology stack.

The possible career path at SMI for an entry level position is Analyst, Consultant, Senior Consultant, Manager and then Director.

We are not an “up-or-out” consulting group that constantly places unrealistic expectations on you. We believe in life outside work and understand the importance of a balanced life.
SMI Consultants are often required to be on-site at the client's facilities so if you do not live in the same city as the client, then travelling to the client's site may be necessary. We strive to limit this travel by placing consultants on assignments in their home city and by attempting to limit travel, when necessary, Monday to Thursday with Friday spent working from home or a local office. Specific travel arrangements depend on clients and we always try to attain a balanced approach to travel.
